Do you want readers to close your book with a sense of disappointment that they’re leaving your fictional world behind? Regardless of what time period your story takes place, you’ll want the scenes to come alive for the reader. What kinds of details can provide this experience? In this workshop, award-winning author Nancy J. Cohen will discuss what type of research you’ll need, how to build your society in a unique fashion, and what specific elements you’ll want to include. Examples from different genres will be offered. You’ll come away with a checklist of items that will help you set your story in a memorable universe of your own.
