Moonlight Tales is a signature event by Broward County Main Library. This year we are partnering with One Book One Broward 2026 to celebrate The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson.
This outdoor event takes place on the grounds of the adjacent Fort Lauderdale Woman’s Club, with the Stranahan Park gazebo as center stage.

Storyteller, Lucrece Louisdhon-Louinis
Through interactive storytelling, Lucrèce Louisdhon Louinis invites audiences to explore Haitian heritage and imagination, bridging past and present through powerful, personal tales.
Born in Petionville, Haiti, Lucrèce Louisdhon Louinis grew up studying ballet and folk dance. She moved to New York to pursue her degrees at St. John’s University, and after meeting Louinès, joined the Haitian Dance Theater, which took her across the United States, Canada, and Cuba. In 1998, the couple relocated to Florid,a where they continued to teach and create youth programs with a focus on literacy and cultural exchange. For over three decades, Louinès and Lucrèce Louinis have served as tireless cultural advocates, promoting Haitian music, dance, and story nationally. Together, they are recognized as pillars within South Florida’s Haitian community.
Storyteller, Red Wordz
Frankie “Red” Rosso, goes by a poet, dancer, and radio personality named Red Wordz. She has written since age eight; working her way through poetry gospel rap, and the art of freestyle hip-hop. With much involvement in her community, school and church, the stage was always this creative’s home and calling. Red began performing at age 10. Relishing in various art forms; she embraced the art of singing, musical talent as she played trumpet in her school jazz ensemble by age 11, acting at school and church plays, and of course dancing throughout her youth in school dance teams and competitions sqauds. After turning her life over to sports and dancing in her teens, she put the pen down for over a decade. She began her professional journey in poetry, her sophomore year at Broward College in 2013, where she received her degree in Radio & Tv Broadcasting.
Though she is a spoken word artist, she identifies herself as a “WORDIST”-using her RED WORDZ to uplift, inspire, and educate- unapologetically. Her passion for Poetry and Spoken Word have led her to many endeavors including hosting her very own Radio & Televsion Talk show RedLighTv LIVE, serving on local slam teams, judging national poetry slams, featuring at various venues, nightlife events, as well private parties and special occasions across South-Florida and the Tri-State Area. Currently, Red hosts several open mics all across South Florida and teaches hip-hop, bachata, & fusion dance classes, through her project RedDance, at local dance studios in the Fort Lauderdale area. You can always find her sharing her love for “WORDISM” at a venue near you or where she began her journey- college campuses and local open mics.
Musician, Yalyen Savignon
Born in Havana, Cuba, Yalyen Savignon began playing the violin at eight and the piano at ten at the Conservatorio de Música Guillermo Tomas. She continued her education at the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory. After arriving in the United States, she has performed with many symphonies orchestras in the state of Florida, including the New World Symphony, Alhambra Orchestra, Miami Lyric Opera, Brevard Symphony Orchestra, Treasure Coast Symphony, Symphony of the Americas, and Vero Beach Opera. She won the Lynn Concert Competition 2015 at the Lynn Conservatory of Music, where she completed her degree in Violin Performance.
Yalyen has completed a master’s degree in Violin Performance at Carnegie Mellon University with Professor Cyrus Forough and postgraduate studies at the University of Southern California with Martin Chalifour, concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Yalyen is an avid chamber music performer. She has given many recitals in The United States and performed with the Grant Park Music Festival Orchestra, the Chatham Baroque ensemble in Pittsburgh, and Boca Sinfonia. She has worked as a Teaching Artist for the LA Philharmonic and YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles); Yalyen has taught violin and chamber music in the United States, Cuba, Chile, and Jamaica during different summer programs and festivals.
She is also the President and Executive Director of the Volta Music Foundation. In this position, she oversees all the artistic and executive strategies through which Volta Music Foundation expands access to classical music education in The United States and other Latin American countries.
