Dianne Bienes Seminar Room # 1Chinese Scroll Painting with Broward County Library’s Sukalaya Kenworthy
In celebration of the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read event, Broward County is featuring the books To Live by Yu Hua and The Nian Monster by Andrea Wang. All branches are participating in either a book discussion, children’s story time, or related programming to maximize participation and readership throughout Broward County.
Join Broward County Library's Sukalaya Kenworthy as she leads A Creative Journey Through "To Live", an immersive art program. Participants will create their own Chinese style brush painting. This ancient Chinese art typically depicts scenes of everyday life and landscapes. This event is presented in collaboration with the South Florida Institute on Aging (SOFIA). Art materials will be supplied.
This county wide initiative will take place over a period of two months from January through February 2025.We will be issuing a limited number of copies of each title based upon the number of discussions, story times, and events at each branch location for public giveaway.
NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
