Screenwriter, film director, and author Bonné Bartron discusses her experiences directing films, her novel "Whispers," and a variety of other topics.
Award-winning writer and bestselling author of "Whispers: An American Legend," Bonné Bartron is also a director who kickstarted her career while studying at Patch American High School in Stuttgart, Germany. During this time, she conducted interviews with bands such as Papa Roach, Disturbed, and HIM. After completing her education at CSU, Bartron relocated to Los Angeles where she was brought on by Chris Moore to serve as a production assistant on Vincent Gallo's "Promises Written in Water." It was here that she crossed paths with her longtime mentor and friend, Sage Stallone. Together, Sage and Bartron embarked on filming projects using vintage celluloid cameras from the 1970s through the 1990s. They both took turns behind and in front of the camera, with Sage imparting his enthusiasm for technology from the pre-digital era. Throughout this period, Bartron penned her first screenplay and gained experience in various crew roles to support herself while honing her skills in all aspects of filmmaking under experienced industry professionals. She worked as an assistant director on a short featuring Randall Park, handled set decoration on the horror movie "The Telling" at the renowned Playboy Mansion, and served as a production coordinator on a film starring Danny Trejo, along with numerous other notable projects ranging from feature films to commercials, music videos, and even fashion shoots.
