Full description:
This film is a continuation of the story of Carver Ranches in the beginning and the brave Black folks that settled there in the 1940s. Part 1 told the back story, showed video clips of 10 pioneer families interviewed, and a current glimpse of Carver Ranches transformation from unincorporated Broward County to the progressive City of West Park. In this film, 21 more families share portions of their history. Their compelling stories will transport you to the era of “The Village”.
This project is supported in part by a grant from Broward County Cultural & Art Division. Community screenings at the library are a collaboration with Broward County Library and The Bowles-Strachan House.
