Andre Fouad, Haitian poet-speaker and journalist presents his new book of poems "Valse des ombres".
Valse des ombres, translated in English (Waltz of Shadows) by André Fouad is a symphonic and organic book. Of the works of André Fouad, it is the one which best symbolizes the poet with powdered feet that he represents. Through this book, he says he is the bird of his fairy tale, bearer of the resilience of bird words and scribe of nomadic forests. He tells us about his adventures as a bird and gives us his music. He maps his wanderings marked by his love of the things of the world, of simple and grandiose pleasures.
And throughout the pages of this strange object that is this book by André Fouad, the poet-walker, bohemian, says to the readers: “Come here, give me your hand and let me show you around the exhibition of my loves and my favorites. Let me mediate for you this great and long traveling exhibition of my multiple loves and my secret, fetish and intimate places. »
His poetry is urban, very close to the beat generation characterized by the road, drugs and sex.
André Fouad is a Haitian poet-speaker and journalist. He received several literary prizes and distinctions in Haiti and abroad in particular; the Special Mention of the René Depestre Prize for his book Songes d’encre, 2023.
This program will be presented in Haitian Creole, French, and English.
