Join us to learn simple, everyday ways to protect the environment and make mindful, planet-friendly choices.
This program is designed to provide a meaningful Earth Day experience by combining children’s literature, environmental education, and culinary literacy. Using The Earth Book by Todd Parr as its foundation, the program engages children through storytelling, discussion, and hands-on activities to make environmental responsibility both accessible and fun.
Todd Parr’s focus on small, achievable actions encourages children to feel empowered in caring for the planet. Chef Fiefie builds on these ideas by incorporating a culinary component that links sustainability to everyday food choices, teaching participants how to reduce food waste, understand where food comes from, and make mindful, planet-friendly decisions.
Earth Day in Action: Reading and Caring for Our Planet is an engaging Earth Day program for children that combines storytelling, discussion, and hands-on learning. Using The Earth Book by Todd Parr, participants will explore simple and meaningful ways to care for the Earth, such as reducing waste, conserving resources, and making thoughtful everyday choices.
The program begins with a guided reading and interactive discussion that encourages children to share ideas and build environmental awareness. Chef Fiefie then leads a kid-friendly culinary activity that connects Earth Day themes to food sustainability, highlighting how small choices in the kitchen can help protect the planet. Through age-appropriate activities, children learn about teamwork, creativity, and responsibility while having fun.
