Artist Statement
My work is rooted in the feeling of home—what it means to carry it, to remember it, and to recreate it wherever I stand. As a Caribbean woman, I understand that home is not limited to place. It lives in the body, in the way we speak and move, and in the stories passed through generations. It exists in music, in food, and in the quiet, sacred moments that often go unseen.
Through photography, I capture more than images—I capture presence. I am drawn to the softness and strength within Caribbean life, where resilience and beauty exist side by side. With Echoes of the Islands, I
expand beyond the visual by incorporating sound, creating an immersive experience where memory can be both seen and felt. I invite viewers to step into the work and connect with something familiar—whether
remembered or newly discovered.
