For Women's History Month, Pompano Beach Library presents a screening and discussion of the celebrated documentary "Killing Us Softly"
Killing Us Softly 4: Advertising's Image of Women, from influential and award winning creator Jean Kilbourne, uses real world examples of print and TV advertising to show how advertising pushes distorted and destructive ideals of femininity. More than just a look at gender in media, this provocative documentary also encourages and teaches the viewer how to think critically about what media wants us to think about our own bodies and world around us.
