The film for discussion is The Station Agent. When his only friend dies, a man moves to rural New Jersey to live a life of solitude, only to meet with a chatty hot dog vendor and a troubled woman.

About the moderator

Yair Solan is Assistant Professor of Literature and Film in the Department of Humanities and Politics at Nova Southeastern University. He has published articles on 19th and 20th century American literature, film history, and early media culture. At NSU, Dr. Solan coordinates the university film series The Reel and teaches courses in American literature and film studies.
