Clay Goldstein has carried a Harmonica in his pocket since High School and will educate our BLUES ScHOOL students!
Blues and the Harmonica.
The Blues and the Harmonica are a most unpredictable magical musical marriage. These lovers speak in nicknames, like Mississippi Saxophone, Licking Stick, Whistle, and Horn of the Heart.
Born in China and Europe, the Harmonica came to America and, when played “incorrectly,” became the perfect musical complement to the Blues guitar. It’s a match that was made while working in the fields and during long bus trips north. Consummated on the evening's front porch and at the midnight factory. They bathed in bars and Juke Joints throughout the back roads of the United States before returning to Europe and now, the world.
Clay Goldstein has carried a Harmonica in his pocket since High School. He learned in small bars in the Fells Point section of Baltimore, moved to LA, Kansas City, The Missouri Ozarks and now plays with Gulf Coast Recording Artist Kat Riggins, Otis Cadillac and his own group, the NattyBōs. On the way he’s recorded with Andy Summers (Police) and Sheryl Crow, on movie and commercial soundtracks but his addiction and focus has always been live performance.
Like most good Blues shows, this will be an experience, a little history, a lot of music and many opportunities to sing and play and dance and shout.
