Join us online for the 5th annual Science Fair Fest

Get ideas for your science fair projects, or just to have fun doing some hands-on science experiments.

On Saturday, October 9, 2021, join BCL and our amazing partners online for the 5th annual Science Fair Fest. Each of the events below is designed to help a different age group get ideas for a science fair project or fun science experiments you can do at home. Attendees will also have a chance to win prizes!

Pick up a Take & Make STEM project at the West Regional Library to make at home and learn more about the online Science Fair Fest, for ages up to 18. Kits available while supplies last.

• 10-11AM: Fun with Chemistry – with Barry University, 6th-12th grade
  Chemistry students of Barry University host hands on chemistry experiments & answer questions
  
  
• 11:30AM–12:30PM: Parent & Student Info Session and Q & A -with The School Board of Broward County, 6th-12th grade
  Dr. Merilyn Johnson and staff explain the guidelines and requirements for students entering science fair projects in Broward County Public Schools.
  
  
• 1-2PM: Be a NASA GLOBE Citizen Scientist -with The Space Science Institute, all ages
  Anne Holland will present one or more of the NASA Citizen Scientist initiatives and how you can help NASA by collecting data through one of their apps
  
  
• 2:30-3:30PM: Get Energized -with The Museum of Discovery and Science, all ages
  Museum staff will demonstrate funs hands-on science using alternative energy, including working with snap circuits, solar cars, and mirrors.
