The first 1,000 children arriving to the Festival will receive a free book. Children are encouraged to come to the Festival in costume and join the Storybook Parade.

Meet cartoonist Judd Winick, the New York Times bestselling author of Hilo! He is also the author of Pedro and Me, an autobiographical graphic novel about his friendship with The Real World castmate and AIDS educator Pedro Zamora. Winick has also written for Marvel, DC Comics, and created The Life and Times of Juniper Lee for Cartoon Network.
