In 2022 the American Library Association tracked the highest number of attempted book bans since the organization began compiling censorship data 20 years ago.
The majority of book challenges target books written by and about marginalized communities. These challenges are resulting in legislations and other barriers that prevent people from reading these books. Join NSU librarians and faculty, in partnership with the office of Student Life and Campus Engagement (SLCE), for an engaging discussion about banned books, censorship, and how we can respond to censorship challenges as active citizens.
