From its world premiere in Turin in 1896, Puccini’s La Boheme has been one of the world’s most beloved and most popular operas.
The opera hit tunes are instantly recognizable, and it is currently the most frequently performed opera in the United States. In advance of Florida Grand Opera’s performances at Broward Center (May 2 and 4), Dr. Robert Croan will discuss the work and its history, with a scene-by-scene narration and emphasis on the way the drama is told and enhanced by the music. This seminar will also feature a preview performance from Florida Grand Opera Studio Artist Keith Kline, who will sing the role of Colline in the upcoming production.
