Interdisciplinary artist Pablo Matute will lead a collage-making workshop informed by his practice. Learn about the process of collage-making and partake in an art project.
Pablo Matute is the first artist-in-residence at The Storefront.
The Storefront is Broward County Main Library's artist-in-residence program made possible in partnership with Broward Cultural Division. The Storefront invites local up-and-coming artists to occupy the space through studio pratices, arti installation, and public programs.
Pablo Francisco Matute (B. 1999, Hialeah) is a visual artist living and working in Miami, FL. He received his BA from Florida International University in 2023 and works out of Zeroemptyspaces in Hallandale, FL. Pablo has exhibited in numerous group shows including Greenspace Gallery in North Miami, Pinecrest Gardens, and The Miami Riverside Center. Pablo uses his work to dissect his environment, creating surreal charcoal drawings and collages that speak about the reflections on navigating a diverse cultural terrain, exploring the nuanced duality of cultures, and the significance of space.
