Join the Justin Miranda Jazz Ensemble for an hour of new arrangements to jazz standards and original tunes.
Guitarist and educator Justin Miranda first began his professional music journey at Broward College. While there, he studied under Jason Hainsworth, Paul Ayick and Tom Lippincott – and began performing around South Florida under his own name and as a sideman in other groups. From there, Justin completed both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Jazz Performance at FIU – where he studied with Gary Campbell and Jaime Ousley. Justin has been on the bandstand with various local jazz talents such as Dave Fernandez, Jen Martinez-Bre, Juan Tobon, Paul Ayick, Lucia Nunez, and Waldron Dunkley. Currently, Justin teaches jazz guitar and music appreciation courses at both Miami-Dade College and Broward College.
Jen Martinez-Bre is a Peruvian/Cuban-American percussionist, disability advocate, festival curator currently based in Sunrise, FL. As a performer and advocate, she has been commended by organizations such as the Gold Coast Jazz Society and has been invited to present internationally for the Percussive Arts Society International Convention and Jazz Education Network Conference. In her handful of years of performing, Jen has been on the bandstand with and/or been mentored by luminaries such as Stefon Harris, Bria Skonberg, Tony Miceli, and NEA Jazz Masters Dee Dee Bridgewater and Regina Carter.
Ale González is a Salvadoran drummer, producer, sound engineer, and educator based in Florida. Known for his musicality, sensitivity, and rhythmic versatility, Alejandro blends traditional Latin roots with a deep love for jazz, rock, pop, and R&B—creating a sound that’s both grounded and globally inspired. He has performed on internationally renowned stages including the Newport Jazz Festival, Gotham Jazz Festival, El Salvador Jazz Festival, West Palm Beach Jazz Festival, and South Florida Jazz Festival. His talent has taken him to venues such as Hard Rock Stadium, Actor’s Playhouse Theater, Funky Biscuit, MargaritaVille Theater, and the Hard Rock Café, sharing the stage with celebrated musicians like Danilo Pérez, Bria Skonberg, Tal Cohen, Jose Gola, and Nicole Yarling.
