140, Program Room (Youth)Art workshop in celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary. For ages 6 to 12. Registration is required for each child.
This interactive art workshop invites youth participants to reflect on their community—its history, present identity, and future aspirations—through individual and collaborative artmaking. Each participant will create a personal artwork, which will then become part of a collective mural displayed at the library.
The program encourages creativity, teamwork, and civic engagement while honoring the values of community and shared history central to America’s 250th anniversary.
Educational & Community Objectives
- Encourage youth to explore and express ideas about community and belonging
- Foster collaboration through a shared mural project
- Support creative thinking and visual storytelling
- Introduce age-appropriate conversations about history, identity, and the future
- Celebrate community voices as part of America’s 250-year legacy
