237, Meeting RoomJoin the 6-week sessions designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance balance for older adults.
Join us for the upcoming Tai Chi for Arthritis sessions led by certified instructor Sharyn Brooks. Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA), developed by Dr. Paul Lam and endorsed by organizations like the CDC, is a gentle, evidence-based program designed specifically for seniors to improve pain, balance, and safe movement. TCA uses simplified Sun-style movements with higher stances to reduce joint strain. It focuses on relieving arthritis symptoms, improving mobility, and preventing falls, with options for seated or modified movements. Research shows strong benefits, including reduced joint pain and stiffness, improved balance and strength, and lower fall risk. Studies also indicate the program is safe, with no serious adverse effects and high participation rates. Overall, TCA is a safe, accessible, and research-supported option for managing arthritis and improving overall physical function.
Registration is required for these sessions.
