10:30am - 11:30am
Pompano Beach Library and Cultural Center
Multipurpose RoomThe Seminoles of Florida are known as the "Unconquered People" who managed to evade capture by the U.S. Army in the 19th century.
Come join us for an enchanting hour celebrating and "unearthing" Seminole heritage and the ancient oral tradition and practice of storytelling. Listen to Native Seminole stories and music as told by Seminole Tribal Member Gordon Wareham. Gordon Wareham is a member of the Panther Clan and lives on the Hollywood Florida Reservation. He is director of the Seminole Tribe of Florida Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum at the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation.
As a special treat, he will delight us by playing his Native American flute.
