Reach Out and Read (ROAR) is a reading support program organized and led by reading mentors, to encourage a love of reading and build confidence. For children going into first through third grade.
Many students struggle with reading and experience learning loss over the summer and we are here to help to address learning loss in younger children.
Teen volunteers participating in Reach Out and Read (ROAR) would read with children, help them select age-appropriate books, and engage in simple literacy activities. Volunteers are not responsible for instruction or assessment; their role is to support, encourage, and model positive reading habits in a safe, supervised environment.
Registration is required for each participant.
