Multipurpose RoomTwo great programs in one! See a real live gopher tortoise and learn why this animal is a keystone species, supporting the habitats it dwells in. Also, become sworn in as an official Junior Ranger!
Join us as Animal Care Specialist M. Carhuel and Park Ranger F. Hoak from Hugh Taylor Birch State Park offer a live animal presentation with one of the park’s very own resident critters, a gopher tortoise! Learn why without gopher tortoises (and other Keystone species) the whole entire ecosystems would collapse! The second part of this program includes an opportunity to become a junior ranger. Participants will receive junior ranger folders, take part in a junior ranger activity, and be sworn in as an official junior ranger! https://www.floridastateparks.org/HughTaylorBirch
