Make dancers spin with STEM!
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a fun and educational LEGO STEM activity inspired by La Danza Giratoria – The Spinning Dancers! Kids in grades K–2 will use LEGO BricQ Motion kits to build a colorful spinning dance floor powered by real working gears.
Children will decorate minifigure dancers with bright tissue-paper skirts in Latin festival colors, explore how gear size affects motion, and discover how Latina engineer Ellen Ochoa used similar mechanics in space technology. They’ll also learn new Spanish vocabulary like girar (to spin), bailar (to dance), and engranaje (gear), all while exploring hands-on science concepts.
