2nd floor Exhibit SpaceStop by this summer for Voices of Our Neighborhoods, a mobile public art project combining large-scale visual art with community-sourced audio to celebrate the diverse stories of Broward County.
Voices of Our Neighborhoods is a mobile public art project combining large-scale visual art with community-sourced audio to celebrate the diverse stories of Broward County. At its center is a 12'×7' modular mural made entirely of colored circles and dots, symbolizing unity. Earthy Everglades tones blend into bright ocean blues, with the center reflecting the colors of each Broward district, all anchored by an outlined county map. This mural collects 15 personal stories—memories, poems, songs, and spoken word—each paired with a painted wooden cutout of the storyteller’s home, a plexiglass portrait, and a QR code linking to their audio.
