Join us for the ArtLit 2023 Festival, a free signature Broward County Library event will take place at the South Regional Broward College Library and Broward College!
The 6th annual ArtLit 2023 Festival, a free signature Broward County Library event will take place at the South Regional Broward College Library and Broward College. This is a free popular community celebration of art and literature for all ages. The indoor/outdoor festival will celebrate Colombian culture with a day of art activities, a 3D Photo opportunity, music, chalk artistry/mural creation(s) by professional artists and students, a community chalk board and a life-size game area, as well as a video game bus, stories on wheels, poetry and chalk workshops, dance and musical performances, character appearances, soccer activities, henna tattoos , face painting, free book and food sample giveaways (while supplies last) and so much more! ArtLit will have an engaging and informative vendor area with local artists/authors, businesses, local organizations, and the Colombian Mobile Consulate (Consulado Movil de Colombia).
ArtLit 2023 is the official culmination of Broward County Library's NEA Big Read 2023, which features the novel, Infinite Country by Patricia Engel. Infinite Country is centered around a Colombian family’s journey of migration. The National Endowment for the Arts NEA Big Read program aims to inspire meaningful conversations, artistic responses, and new discoveries and connections in each community. Therefore, ArtLit 2023 will celebrate the Colombian experience through the art, culture and stories that connect us.
The first 200 registered people will receive a Broward County Library insulated bag.
