The Special Populations Section of Broward Parks & Recreation is partnering with Hanger Clinic, Strive Recreational Therapy, and the Broward County Libraries to host a free Summer Reading Series for individuals with limb difference or limb loss. From June through September, there will be an event held once a month at a different library branch throughout Broward County that will tie back to the summer theme of ‘Unearth a Story.’ Individuals with limb difference or limb loss and their families will be introduced to the various library branches and the free print and digital resources available to them.
During select months, a local author will be sharing his or her published book on limb loss in hopes of having him or her become a part of the local author collection in the Broward County Library system.
