Join naturalist and birder Dr. Corey T. Callaghan, an Assistant Professor at UF’s Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, for an engaging introduction to the world of birding. Learn about the numerous benefits of birdwatching, what it takes to become a birder, and the tools you need for a lifetime of learning and enjoyment in the great outdoors. Discover essential bird identification tools like field guides and the latest birding apps (eBird, Audubon, Merlin Bird ID, iNaturalist), and learn how these tools can be used for citizen science. About the Presenter: Corey T. Callaghan
Corey T. Callaghan is an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. With a passion for using citizen science data from platforms like iNaturalist and eBird, Corey’s research focuses on understanding biodiversity across various scales, from local to global, particularly in urban areas. He is dedicated to sharing his love for birdwatching and encouraging others to contribute to citizen science through informative and inspiring presentations.
