Originally planned as a stage play, "Car Wash" became a low budget sleeper hit movie in 1976. This ensemble cast features George Carlin, Prof. Irwin Corey, Ivan Dixon, Bill Duke, Antonio Fargas, Lorraine Gary, Garrett Morris, Richard Pryor and The Pointer Sisters. Recorded by the band, Rose Royce, the album "Car Wash" won the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media and is a worthy addition to the Cinema of the Blues.
