The League of Women Voters of Broward County meet the second Friday of each month to discuss books centered around strong women of diverse backgrounds.
About The Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown:
Robert Langdon, esteemed professor of symbology, travels to Prague to attend a groundbreaking lecture by Katherine Solomon—a prominent noetic scientist with whom he has recently begun a relationship. Katherine is on the verge of publishing an explosive book that contains startling discoveries about the nature of human consciousness and threatens to disrupt centuries of established belief. But a brutal murder catapults the trip into chaos, and Katherine suddenly disappears along with her manuscript. Langdon finds himself targeted by a powerful organization and hunted by a chilling assailant sprung from Prague's most ancient mythology. As the plot expands into London and New York, Langdon desperately searches for Katherine . . . and for answers. In a thrilling race through the dual worlds of futuristic science and mystical lore, he uncovers a shocking truth about a secret project that will forever change the way we think about the human mind.
Reviews:
“A master of the brainy, twisty thriller. . . . The Secret of Secrets is perhaps his most ambitious undertaking yet: a dense thriller that is also a meditation on the nature, and the possible future, of human consciousness.”—Los Angeles Times
“So riveting you’ll want to clear your calendar.”—USA Today

The League of Women Voters of Broward County (LWVBC) began the Literati Book Club in August 2019 as a prelude to the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. Led by Bradette Jepsen, a Past President of LWVBC and published author, the book club first selected titles focused around the Suffragists and the movement they created but quickly expanded to include stories of strong women of many diverse backgrounds, both past and present. Selected titles have included bestsellers, works of nonfiction, and even a graphic novel. Discussion is informal and all are encouraged to participate - or just listen. Both league members and members of the public are welcome.
