Black History Month has historical roots with a specific goal in mind. This is an opportunity to look at those roots as we end another month of Black History and look at whether the aspirations have been achieved. From the short PSAs seen on TV to the memory of the Civil Rights movement and what some scholars have called the white washing of Martin Luther King Jr, all raise questions of what are we doing.
Gary P. Gershman, PhD was assistant professor of history and legal
studies in the Division of Humanities at Nova Southeastern University,
