Join us to learn about native, non-native and invasive plants found in Broward County. Also learn how to use plants and their foliage to add color to your own home garden.
Invasive non-native plants are adaptable, aggressive, and resist efforts to eliminate or control them. The plants spread quickly because the same limiting factors found in their native habitats (bugs, disease) do not exist in Florida. These characteristics make them a threat to Florida’s natural areas, as they choke out our native plants and reduce natural biodiversity.
You can help stop the spread of destructive non-native plants. Join Broward County Parks Naturalists Camila Vallejo and Allegra Nolan to learn about native, non-native and invasive plants found in Broward County. Learn how to recognize and know the differences between these three plant groups by studying their characteristics and coloring them in! Master Gardener Taryn Palo will discuss how you can use plants and their foliage to add color to your own home garden. Materials provided. Registration required.
