Calling all teens! Join us to read this month’s banned book Maus I: A Survivor’s Tale by Art Spiegelman. The club meeting with be held in the Story Room from 6-7pm.
This Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel recounts the author’s father’s experience during the Holocaust.
Attendees will receive volunteer hours by taking part in a discussion about the book itself, as well as the national book bans leveled against Maus I: A Survivor’s Tale. Club members will also collaborate on creating a poster about the ban to be displayed alongside our Book Sanctuary for the remainder of the month.
Maus I: A Survivor’s Tale is a story of family, tragedy, and survival. By focusing on this graphic novel, we hope to display the power of its content and its presentation in a visual format, showing the depth of how we may Color Our World.
