Workshop Sesions
Workshop 1: Spoken Word Poetry with a Focus on Sound and Rhythm
Objective: Students will explore the use of sound and rhythm in spoken word poetry, learning how to craft poems that are not only visually engaging but also sonically powerful. They will practice using alliteration, assonance, consonance, and other sound techniques to enhance their delivery.
Workshop 2: Spoken Word Poetry with Imagery and Symbolism
Objective: Students will focus on using imagery and symbolism to create layered, metaphorical poems that convey deeper meanings and evoke powerful emotions.
Workshop 3: Narrative Spoken Word Poetry
Objective: Students will learn to create a narrative within their poetry, using storytelling techniques to engage the audience. They will also explore the use of imagery, symbolism, and emotional depth to bring their stories to life.
Workshop 4: Nostalgic Spoken Word Poetry
Objective: Students will explore the theme of nostalgia in spoken word poetry, learning to evoke memories and emotions through sensory imagery and reflective language.
Workshop 5: Spoken Word Poetry with Humor and Satire
Objective: Students will learn to incorporate humor, wit, and satire into their spoken word poetry, exploring how to craft pieces that are both entertaining and thought-provoking.
