Kids are invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal to learn all about what happens at a hospital or doctor's office. We will also have teddy bears available (while supplies last!)
Each child should bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal "patient" so they can visit the following stations:
Once the "patient" has visited all of the stations, they will receive a certificate of good health. The first 100 kids will also receive a free book!
A short storytime featuring special guest reader, Dr. Rebecca MacDougall, Broward County Chief Medical Examiner will be held at 1:30 pm.
Target audience: kids 4 – 8-years old
The Teddy Bear Clinic takes place in a friendly and non-threatening environment where interactive stations are set up with real and play medical equipment. At each station, kids are encouraged to learn and explore as they perform play hospital procedures on their furry friends. As a result, kids may be less fearful and more relaxed should they have to undergo similar procedures in the future.
The Teddy Bear clinic is part of Broward Health Medical Center. Hosted by Broward Health,
Child Life department in conjunction with the Broward County Library. The mission of Broward Health is to provide quality healthcare to the people we serve and support the needs of all physicians and employees.
