This is a one-hour coding activity designed to inspire future interest in computer science!
This program is meant for children ages 8 to 13. Registration is limited. Please only add registrations for participants. Please do not register parents, caregivers, or observers.
In this activity, learners get a set of interactive puzzles to be solved with coding blocks. This lesson introduces the core computer science concepts of coding and programming (using blocks), as well as simple debugging techniques. This set of puzzles will use loops and introduce conditionals.
What is the Hour of Code?
The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts.
The Hour of Code is organized by Code.org as well as a coalition of partners that have come together to support the Hour of Code—including Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and the College Board.
