Using archival records and other genealogical resources, we can follow those first pioneers’ journey to the reclaimed land in the Everglades.
The Town of Davie is located in western Broward County in southeastern Florida. It was founded by hardy and determined farmers who came from around the world. Kim Weismantle highlights the early history of the town and uncovers the story of the town’s 'first' name, “Zona.” Using archival records and other genealogical resources, we can follow those first pioneers’ journey to the reclaimed land in the Everglades.
