About the show:
Música with Sarah is a sensory-friendly bilingual music class for children created by music therapist and educator, Sarah Galvan. Children are engaged in pretend play with puppets, rhythmic expression with instruments, movement with scarves, parachute and much more! Música with Sarah promotes dual language, early literacy and social emotional learning while encouraging children to explore and practice kindness with one another. We are a community that celebrates neurodiversity and embraces all cultures!
Before or after the show, be sure to stop by the Spring Book Fair! All donations fund programs at Southwest Regional Library.
About Día (Día de los niños/El Día de los libros (Day of the Children and Day of the Book):
El Día de los niños/El Día de los libros, also known simply as Día, is a celebration of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly on April 30. “Children’s Day” has been celebrated in many countries around the world officially since 1925.
After learning about Mexico’s tradition of celebrating April 30th as El Día del niño, children’s book author Pat Mora helped create a new holiday in the United States emphasizing the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds, linking families to diverse books, languages and cultures.
