The entire community is invited to this interactive dinner discussion about how the opioid epidemic has affected Broward County.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is hosting an interactive dinner discussion about the opioid epidemic in Broward County. Did you know that in 2021, there were 7,460 overdose deaths/poisonings in Florida? Drug Enforcement Administration staff will discuss the proactive ways participants can talk about the opioid epidemic and find the assistance needed to impact their families and friends Did you know that in 2020, 16.1 million Americans indicated misusing prescription pain medication? Participants will learn the facts about opioids, the ways the medication works, ways to parent during this epidemic, and techniques to start a conversation with your family. Many people eat dinner at the time of this program. In response to this reality, Project Opioid will provide a free dinner for your entire family during the program.
