December 22 theme--Group Hug
Players are encouraged to bring a deck centered around the theme of group hug.
Group Hug Definition
In Magic: The Gathering, group hug is a multiplayer strategy that involves helping other players and making the game last longer. The goal of a group hug deck is to give other players resources, such as cards, mana, and life, so that they can advance their game state.
Here are some characteristics of a group hug deck:
Defensive
Group hug decks play defensively, using reactionary plays instead of progressive ones.
Prolong the game
Group hug decks are designed to prolong the game by making it less likely that an opponent will see you as a threat.
Sneak in wins
Group hug decks usually win by letting other players eliminate each other, or by finishing off all opponents at once.
Help the furthest behind
Group hug decks may deliberately help the player who is furthest behind in order to keep everyone in the game.
