Join The African American Research Library & Cultural Center in collaboration with Collaborative Ancestral Burial Societies* (CABS) for our biennial Sacred Burial Ground update.
The panel dialog will focus on researching family roots and uncovering the history of Ancestral Burial Sites. Various African/Caribbean American cemeteries will be discussed including Woodlawn, Westview Community Gardens (Pompano), Knowles (Deerfield-Broward), Lincoln, and Evergreen Memorial Gardens (Miami-Dade). Featured panelists/invited guests include Hazel Armbrister, Roberto Fernandez III (History Broward), Gloria Battle (Deerfield), and John Allen, Coral Gables Museum. Dr. Ramona La Roche will serve as moderator.
