Join Donald Cleveland for a feature presentation at Broward County Library on the historical significance of Juneteenth, including its origins, evolution, and cultural importance. The presentation will include discussions on the symbolism of the Juneteenth flag, its colors representing resilience, hope, and prosperity. Additionally, the program will incorporate the Sankofa symbol, representing the importance of learning from the past to build a better future, emphasizing the interconnectedness of African American history and the ongoing struggle for equality.
Donald Cleveland is Donald Cleveland is a Retired Administrator/Faculty Emeritus at Broward College and former President of the National Council on Black American Affairs--Southern Region as well as founder of Broward College's Black Student Union.
