Celebrate this special day with the League of Women Voters of Broward County!
In 1973, U.S. Congress named August 26th as “Women's Equality Day” to commemorate the certification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. The presentation describes the long, hard fight for women of all colors to obtain the right to vote. Light refreshments “EqualiTEA” will be available before.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
