Impact of Black Women on the Beauty Industry.
Join us as we celebrate and recognize the profound impact of black women on the beauty industry, during the Civil Rights era and beyond.
This transformative movement asserts that embracing one’s unique beauty is an act of defiance against the prevailing societal norms that negatively portray black women.
Through the lens of history, this initiative seeks to amplify the voices and positive contributions of black women, fostering a deeper understanding of their influence and resilience in shaping the beauty standards we celebrate today, as well as the significance of the cultural and economic impact on their families, and communities.
Presented by Imani L. Warren, M.A. - a passionate Professor, art activist, and Curator dedicated to empowering her community through the transformative power of Education and the Arts!
Sponsored by Pompano Beach Friends of the Library and the National Alumni Association of Spelman College.
