Join us for an engaging storytime where we read banned books and challenge you to guess why they were censored. Explore “What If” scenarios and participate in interactive polls!
As part of the nationwide Freedom to Read Community Day of Action, supported by the Broward County Library, we invite you to our special event: Uncovering Censorship: Banned Books Storytime. On Saturday, October 19, 2024, libraries and communities across the country will unite to stand against book bans and censorship, celebrating the freedom to read and access diverse viewpoints.
Join us for an engaging and eye-opening storytime where we will explore some of the most frequently banned books. You’ll have the opportunity to guess why these books were censored, participate in interactive polls, and dive into “What If” scenarios that challenge us to think critically about the impact of censorship on literature and society.
This program is not just a local event but part of a broader, nationwide movement supported by Broward County Library to ensure that everyone has access to a broad spectrum of reading materials. By participating, you’ll be adding your voice to the growing number of individuals and communities advocating for intellectual freedom.
Don’t miss this chance to be part of something bigger—come together with us to explore, discuss, and stand up for the freedom to read.
