A panel of award-winning Colombian authors will explore the impact of literature on Colombian's path to peace and will discuss immigration, cultural identity and assimilation through their works.
Un panel conformado por las reconocidas autoras colombianas Pilar Quintana, Elvira Sanchez-Blake, Gloria Muñoz, y Laura Quintana, examina el impacto de la literatura en el camino hacia la paz en Colombia y discute temas como inmigración, identidad cultural y asimilación a través de sus trabajos literarios. Award-winning novelist Pilar Quintana will discuss the link between childhood attachment and violence and Colombia's path to peace on her novels "La perra" (The Bitch) and "Los abismos" (The abysses.")
Academic professor and well known journalist Elvira Sanchez-Blake will discuss Colombia and Colombian characters in her book “Sumapaz”. She will also discuss aspects of life in Colombia including civil conflict. Ms. Sanchez-Blake will discuss Colombia's path towards reconciliation and peace.
Poet Gloria Muñoz will discuss her Colombian background and novels drawing participants into the Colombian world. Her poetry book Dawn’s Early / Danzirly was awarded the Academy of American Poets 2019 Ambroggio Prize.
Laura Quintana, an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá - Colombia) will discuss the aesthetic dimension of forms of power and emancipation and their effects on the world, from a trans-disciplinary approach based on a dialogue between a philosophy situated in Latin America and contemporary views of anthropology and art. Among her most recent books is "Rabia: afectos, violencia e inmunidad. "
