Learn the fundamentals of DJing in the beginner course designed to teach you how to mix songs based on their BPM (Beats Per Minute) and genre.
The goal of this online session is to teach the basics of how to mix music together in a form that is pleasing to the ear and “pitch perfect”. This 30 minute class will focus on the basics of music mixing which requires knowledge of a songs BPM (Beats Per Minute), pitch, and genre. In this class the instructor will use a midi controller (digital turntable) to mix MP3 files together utilizing a program called Virtual DJ. The specific midi controller used with the Numark Mixtrack Pro 3 and various MP3s which will be curated from the BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC catalogs. At the conclusion of the course patrons will be presented with information regarding free MP3 files they can download via Freegal with a library card.
