Three engaging lectures explore the captivating stories behind hidden gems famous songwriters loved, and legendary songs that reached new heights when covered by artists who made them their own.
June 7th: Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen tell stories. Members of famous bands like Deep Purple, Camel, Focus and King Crimson dig in search for their origins.
July 19th: Neil Sedaka, Stephen Sondheim, David Bowie, Lin Manuel Miranda and Neil Diamond reached heights while writing about displacement and loneliness.
August 2nd: When reimagined and performed by other artists, some songs revive and gain new life. Aerosmith, Jeff Beck, Ray Charles, The Animals, Johnny Cash.
