Today we will discuss Mental Health At Home & On Screen, if 2020 has taught us anything media & television play a big role in our lives. Our guests Director Antwon Lindsey, Sandra Crumper of NAMI, and Dr. Malissa Sanon will discuss how we begin to take away the stigma, misconceptions & perceive mental health within the black community.

Ramona La Roche, Ph.D.
Dr. Ramona La Roche serves as Assistant Director of Adult Information Services at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. A former Institute of Library and Museum Services (ILMS) Cultural Heritage Informatics Leadership (CHIL) Fellow recipient, she received her doctorate in Information Science from the University of South Carolina’s College of Information and Communications. She also holds an M.Ed. [Columbia College, SC], and a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, [New York City].

Antwon Lindsey
Antwon is an author and filmmaker. He has published A Somber Soul in Despair, and The Orchard of Sentiment books. He's also written, produced and directed the award winning films - Reticent: Cause Black Boys Can't Cry [Urban Film Festival Special Collection 2019], and Color of Love [Orlando Urban Film Festival 2020].
Dr. Malissa Sanon
Dr. Malissa Sanon is an alumna of Broward County Public Schools. She completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from Florida Gulf Coast University. In 2012 Malissa was inducted into the Hall of Fame at FGCU. Dr, Sanon is currently the Assistant Director for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for a higher education institution.
Sandra Cumper, MS
Sandra Cumper serves as the Executive Director of NAMI Broward County. She has worked in health and human services as a mental health forensic specialist for several years. Ms. Cumper has a Master of Science degree in mental health counseling and is a doctoral candidate at Arizona State University.
