Mort Laitner, local author and speaker, will talk about being Jewish in today's world. Refreshments and snacks will be provided, and registration is required.
Mort Laitner is a short story writer, a teacher, and an attorney.
He has recently published his first memoir entitled, “A Hebraic Obsession.”
He is the author of 13 books. Six of them are part of the “Healthy Stories” collection which is available on Amazon. He was the editor-in-chief of this award winning series.
Mort is on the Board of Directors of the South Florida Writers Association were he Is in charge of the annual Mango Writers Conference.
During his career, Mort received coverage on CBS Nightly News, in Life Magazine, in Money Magazine, and in the New York Times.
Morton has taught at the University of Miami, School of Medicine, St. Thomas University and Miami-Dade College. He presently teaches Law and Ethics at the Masters Level at Barry University and Florida International University.
He has lectured throughout Florida and Georgia.
Morton practiced public health law with the Miami-Dade County Health Department for 35 years until his retirement. In the beginning of his career Mort practiced Family Law with the Baton Rouge Legal Aid Society and Legal Services of Greater Miami.
